Grid completed soil management, transportation, and disposal activities for the foundation contracting and engineering company. At the time, the project was the largest excavation for residential and commercial development in the New York metropolitan area. Approximately 125,000 tons of soils and native and anthropogenic fill materials requiring disposal or beneficial reuse were managed, trucked, and disposed of by Grid in accordance with regulations and the remedial action plans for the site. Additionally, Grid obtained a Beneficial Use Determination (or BUD) from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for a portion of the materials removed from this site to be beneficially reused on another project, generating significant cost savings for the client. Grid’s services on this project included soil characterization, permit review, on-site management, transportation, and disposal of multiple waste streams.

90,000 tons – 181 Loads in 8 hours

Grid set a production record by removing 181 truck loads of materials from the project in a single, 8 hour shift on this project, which involved soil management, transportation and disposal activities for the foundation contracting and engineering company. Approximately 90,000 tons of soils and native and anthropogenic fill materials requiring disposal or beneficial reuse were managed by Grid in accordance with NY and NJ regulations and the remedial action plans for the site. Grid’s services on this project included soil characterization, permit review, on-site management, transportation, and disposal of multiple waste streams.

60,000 tons – Logistics, Transportation and Disposal

Grid was retained by the foundation contracting and engineering company to provide logistics, transportation and disposal of approximately 40,000 cubic yards (60,000 tons) of materials located.  Grid’s activities included review of existing analytical data, identification of appropriately permitted facilities, acquisition of facility approvals, and transportation and disposal of soils, rock, and  construction and demolition debris originating from the site.

30,000 tons – Management, Transportation and Disposal

Grid was retained by the foundation contracting and engineering company, to manage, transport and dispose of soils, rock and anthropogenic fill materials, including lead hazardous and petroleum impacted materials. Grid transported and disposed of approximately 30,000 tons of material originating from this site. Additionally, Grid provided analysis of existing analytical results, assisted in the preparation of both the hazardous and non-hazardous Excavated Materials Disposal Plans, and provided facility screening and permit review.

40,000 tons – Transportation and Disposal

Grid was retained by the foundation contracting and engineering company to manage, transport and dispose of fill materials, including lead hazardous and petroleum impacted materials. Grid managed, transported and disposed of approximately 40,000 tons of material originating from this project. Additionally, Grid has provided analysis of existing analytical results and provided facility screening and permit review.  The project was successfully completed on time and under budget.

110,000 tons soil & rock T&D

Grid has completed soil removal and disposal activities for the foundation contracting and engineering company at Memorial Sloan Kettering project. Over 20,000 tons of soils requiring disposal or beneficial reuse have been transported and disposed of by Grid in accordance with NY, NJ, and PA regulations and the remedial action plans for the site. Approximately 90,000 cubic yards of rock were also removed following the removal of soils. Grid’s services included soil characterization, permit review, on-site management, transportation, and disposal of multiple waste streams.

25,000 tons – Petroleum Impacted Soils, Rock, Fill

Grid managed remediation logistics and transportation and disposal activities for the foundation contracting and engineering company at the project, which will be a residential and commercial tower.  Approximately 25,000 tons of petroleum impacted soils, rock and anthropogenic fill materials requiring disposal or beneficial reuse were managed by Grid in accordance with NY and NJ regulations and the remedial action plans for the site. Grid’s services on this project included soil characterization, permit review, on-site logistics management, transportation, and disposal of multiple waste streams.

20,000+ tons – Remediation

Grid was retained by the foundation contracting and engineering company to remove an estimated 20,000+ cubic yards of soils and anthropogenic fill materials from the property in compliance with the NYCOER Brownfields Program.  Work included review of existing analytical results, development and implementation of supplemental waste characterization plan, facility screening and permit review, and transportation and disposal of materials originating from the site.  Grid also assisted the contractor in its discussions with OER, and developed a site and facility management plan that has permitted this high-profile development project to proceed on-time and on budget.

15,000 tons – Soil T&D

Grid completed soil management, transportation, and disposal for the general contractor at a NYC OER E-Designation Site.  Services included review of existing analytical data, characterization, preparation of waste characterization reports, review and identification of cost-effective soil disposal options, providing contract advice to the contractor with respect to soil management, transportation and disposal of petroleum impacted, urban fill, and hazardous materials, and completion of all work to meet project schedule in compliance with the Remedial Action Work Plan.
